A DCMA takedown is a serious offense. Please read all of this and use this method of removal should you find your story used on this website without your permission. Read the bullets below before submitting such a request.
A takedown means that someone is using YOUR material without YOUR permission. This means the story is NOT in the public domain and it is not intended for the CC-BY-SA or CC-BY-NA audience. It also means the person posting did not have permission to use the story or is not crediting the story correctly. Stories from websites such as Wikia sites are typically CC-BY-SA or CC-BY-NA so please check those guidelines before submitting a claim to either this website or the website source for the stories given. We will NEVER use a story that we know we do not have permission to tell.
We take copyright seriously here. All stories published are one of the following to the best of our knowledge:
- Written by this website,
- sent to the website with permission by the original author,
- in the public domain,
- or, obtained via CC-BY-SA or CC-BY-NA clause on another website.
If your story does not fit the above criteria and you have not given anyone permission to share your story, please contact us with a take-down request. Please note that it is illegal to claim copyright on anything that you do not own and the person who originally requested the submission will be notified of the take-down. Personal information will not be given to the original submitter unless requested by a court of law, but the person will be contacted. If that person does not get back to me within 72 business hours then the content will be removed permanently. If the person does get back to me claiming copyright of the original content then the content will be put in limbo on the website while the two of you contact each other unless you have shown proof that you do own the said content such as an original link, copyright forms, etc.
If we have not removed the story you have claimed copyright on, or you have not heard from us within 72 business hours, then submit a DCMA claim form. We will usually get back to you within 72 business hours unless something has happened as we are a small office. Business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, Pacific Time.
If we have found that you have illegally claimed copyright on a story that you do not own and requested a takedown on this website then the information will be submitted to the proper authorities or the original author, depending on how our attornies see fit to handle the situtation.
It really sucks that anyone would claim copyright on a story they do not own so please, if you are submitting a story someone else has written or you are claiming copyright on a story someone else has written just don’t do it. It is not yours. The moment someone puts that pen on paper and starts writing a story then that person owns the copyright. For more information on copyright law, please visit the US Copyright Office or the copyright office of your country.
